  Useful for the peninsula and Winelands, but compare the parking and insurance costs before booking.

  Flexible for a city stay when most of the itinerary is walkable or tour-based.

• Match the arrival to the first night

  A late landing, checked luggage, children, or a long onward drive can justify booking the handoff in advance. For a daytime city stay, compare that convenience with the flexibility of collecting a car later.

• Book the handoff, not just the ride

  Confirm the pickup point, flight-change policy, luggage allowance, waiting time, payment method, and destination address. Keep the booking and a second contact route available if the airport connection changes.

• Compare the first-day total

  Include the transfer, parking, fuel, tolls, rental excess, and time spent collecting or returning a vehicle. The cheapest headline option is not always the lowest-friction start to a trip.

• Protect the arrival window

  Leave time for passport control, bags, SIM or cash errands, and the drive to the accommodation. If the first evening has a fixed booking, treat the transfer as an earlier decision rather than a race from the arrivals hall.
