Transport
Choose the transport that removes the real problem.
Cape Town transport is a base-and-route decision. Match the option to luggage, driving distance, weather, evening plans, and whether the journey itself is part of the day.
Walkable base
City Bowl, Sea Point, and the Waterfront can reduce daily transfers when the accommodation is genuinely close to food and the activities you want.
Bus, rail or e-hailing
Use public transport or short point-to-point rides when the day is grouped by area and the pickup, drop-off, and return plan are clear.
Rental car or transfer
A car adds flexibility for the peninsula and Winelands. A private transfer can remove a late-arrival, luggage, or unfamiliar-driving problem.
Before you book
- Airport: decide how much luggage, arrival uncertainty, and first-night driving you want to manage.
- Peninsula: allow a full day and do not place a fixed evening booking immediately after it.
- Winelands: settle the driver or transfer plan before choosing several tasting stops.
- Evenings: check the exact accommodation location and return route, not only the suburb name.
